Temporary Residence Permits – Pink Slip
The Temporary Residence Permit, commonly referred to as the Pink Slip, allows non-EU nationals to legally reside in Cyprus for extended periods beyond the standard visa duration. It is ideal for individuals and families who wish to spend part of the year in Cyprus, manage business interests, or wait for their permanent residence or immigration permit to be approved.
The Pink Slip provides the right to live in Cyprus but not to work, although holders may own shares or serve as directors in Cypriot companies. It is typically issued for one year and can be renewed annually, provided the applicant continues to meet the residency and income requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who should apply for a Pink Slip in Cyprus?
The Pink Slip is designed for non-EU nationals who wish to reside in Cyprus for more than 90 days — for example, retirees, remote workers, or individuals relocating temporarily with family. It allows lawful long-term stay without the need for a work permit, making it ideal for those who earn income from abroad or manage investments while living in Cyprus.
How much income is required to qualify?
Applicants must show sufficient and stable income from abroad, typically at least €24,000 per year for a single person, plus 20% for a spouse and 15% for each dependent child. This income can come from salaries, pensions, dividends, or savings and must be supported by official financial statements or bank transfers from abroad.
Can I work or run a business in Cyprus with a Pink Slip?
Holders of a Pink Slip cannot work for a Cyprus employer, but they may own shares in a Cyprus company, receive dividends, or manage their own business as a director. The permit is primarily for residence and investment management rather than local employment.
What makes the Pink Slip an attractive option compared to other residency routes?
The Pink Slip offers flexibility, lower entry requirements, and family inclusion, without the need for large-scale investments. It allows you to reside in Cyprus year-round, open local bank accounts, send children to schools, and enjoy a stable EU lifestyle — all while maintaining foreign income
